Job Specification

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing new sales channels and resellers across designated territories, implementing strategies to expand sales revenue, and actively managing key accounts. This role will contribute to achieving company growth targets and identifying opportunities aligned with long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand sales revenue within identified channels and resellers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing key accounts.
  • Proactively identify and develop new sales channels, resellers, and business opportunities.
  • Consistently meet and exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs.
  • Monitor market trends and provide actionable insights to drive strategic growth.

Specific Job Content

  • Manage and monitor sales performance to achieve growth targets.
  • Develop and oversee marketing plans in collaboration with key accounts.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to new reseller enquiries.
  • Conduct marketing activities to prospect for new business opportunities, working closely with the marketing department.
  • Identify and deliver training requirements for resellers.
  • Provide resellers with marketing, in-store and online resources to enhance their sales capabilities.
  • Support marketing initiatives, including social media campaigns, external marketing events, reseller and regional events, and exhibitions.
  • Provide timely feedback and reporting to the Commercial Director.
  • Liaise with internal departments to identify and pursue business opportunities, including vendor recruitment.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required by the Commercial Director

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in the photo/video market with knowledge of lighting solutions
  • Proven experience in a sales and business development environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Confidence in presenting to senior managers, buyers, and decision-makers.
  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Fluent in German and English (written and oral).

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in other European languages.

Performance Standards

  • Achieve and exceed targets for new reseller acquisition and channel growth.
  • Provide consistent feedback and reporting to the EMEA Sales team.
  • Ensure all customer interactions and data are accurately recorded in our CRM system (NetSuite).
  • Actively report market intelligence and strategic recommendations to relevant departments.
  • Represent the company and its products in a professional and positive manner.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s product portfolio and customer base to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach, suggesting improvements to business practices, marketing strategies, and product offerings.
  • Adhere to professional standards in punctuality, attire, and customer interactions.
